JEBEL UM ADAAMI SUMMIT

Day 1:

Our representative will meet you at the Wadi Rum Visitor’s Center and assist in your transfer to Rum Village, where you will meet one of our professional trekking guides.  With your guide, drive south through the desert to Jebel Um Adaami, Jordan’s highest peak, situated at 1832 m above sea level. A magnificent drive, through far-flung valleys of Wadi Rum and crossing the beautiful and lonely Wadi Saabit, just getting there takes an hour – a small journey in and of itself! The ascent of Um Adaami usually takes about 2 1/2 hours, with the descent taking a little less time. The path to the summit is clearly marked and needs no rope. You are rewarded at the summit by panoramic views over Saudi Arabia to the south and Wadi Rum to the north. After descending Um Adaami, stop for lunch and a rest. On the way back, stop to visit one or two of the tiny valleys branching off Wadi Saabit.

Your tour ends at our fixed camp, close to Jebel Al Qattar, where you may go for a wander in the nearby cliffs, watch the sunset or relax around a campfire, before enjoying a traditional Bedouin dinner with tea. After dinner, conversation often lingers late around the campfire, as we gaze up at the magnificent night sky. Your guides can also be convinced to share traditional Bedouin music and stories…
